Introductions

Hello everyone!

I think the first post is always the hardest, at least for me. I never know what to say and I end up deleting and retyping sentences a lot. It’s weird because although I am all alone, I feel like the teacher just called on my on the first day of class to stand up and introduce myself. So that’s how I am going to treat this.

Hi. My name is Vasiliki but almost everyone calls me Billie – but you can call me however you like. I am 24 years old and I’m studying Sociology. I was born in California but moved to Greece with my family when I was really young and although the sunny weather didn’t change, everything else was completely different and when the initial excitement of the move wore off, it was a huge cultural shock for me but I’m not complaining. In my free time I like to bake and share what I make with family and friends. I also like to read. No one in my family reads so I don’t know where I caught the bug but now my books won’t fit on my bookshelves. I think being creative is an integral part to being happy and so I try to be creative every day. Some of my creative endeavors include but are not limited to: embroidery, knitting, crocheting, writing, sketching -although I’m not as good as I’d like to think I am :p- organizing and hosting monthly themed brunches for my friends, jewelry making -didn’t last long-, planning -how I love the planning process of anything!- and finally, daydreaming.

I hope you’ll find something of interest here. I will be posting about all my projects, brunches and parties I host, recipes I try out and also about all the good things that have to do with self-love and self-appreciation as these were areas I’ve struggles with immensely in the past. Only when you truly embrace and love yourself, are you on the right path to happiness.
