I’m Joining the Revolution

This is both an announcement and an invitation but before I get to that part I just want to let you know that you can now follow my blog with Bloglovin. You can also follow me through WordPress or email. On to the announcement now.

So as I was saying… I’m joining the Revolution. Which revolution? The Kindness Revolution and I am inviting you to join along with me. Basically, it’s a challenge started by Niki at The Richness of a Simple Life designed to help you focus on bringing more kindness into your life. And I think we can agree that we could all use some more kindness in our lives, don’t you think? The challenge lasts 7 weeks and each week represents a different kindness “segment”.

Week 1: Self-kindness
Week 2: Observe Kindness
Week 3: Kind Energy
Week 4: Be Kind
Week 5: Grateful for Kindness
Week 6: Kind Inspiration
Week 7: Secret Kindness

Each segment is comprised of exercises designed to help you focus on kindness and invite more of it into your life. With everything that we have to do on a daily basis -study, work, family, responsibilities, the list goes on- we sometimes forget to be kind to ourselves and others. We’ve become alienated by our routines and seem to just exist rather than live.

It’s no coincidence that so many ancient philosophies stress the importance of being kind to yourself and others as the path to finding true happiness. I know that in our day it’s easy to loose sight of what’s really important in life, but we should always try to stay grounded and focused nonetheless and being mindful of our kind acts is a great way to start.

I will begin today on Week 1, which focuses on self-love. I will be keeping a journal of my progress and trying to go through as many exercises as I can and at the end of the week – probably next Friday- I will report back on my thoughts, how the exercise went, what changes I observed, how hard or easy it was and so on.

  2. Hi Billie, it’s great you’re participating in Niki’s Kindness Challenge. I did that, and it was great to be more aware each week of acts of kindness, to myself and others. I found you through Niki’s blog, and glad I did! It’s nice to connect with you. Jenny 🙂
